Cycle scheme helps Cleankill go greener
A Cleankill director has been able to turn to pedal power thanks to London’s bike hire scheme - helping him to beat the traffic and reduce the company’s carbon footprint.
Ian Miller has ditched all other forms of transport in favour of Boris Johnson’s Barclays Cycle Hire scheme.
Ian said: “The cycle hire scheme is brilliant. I used to use the tube and occasionally my car, but now I hire a bike. I find it’s faster than other forms of transport and I feel much healthier for it. Our customers are very keen that we are a ‘green’ pest control operation so they love the fact that I use a bike to reach them – plus I’m saving the company money.”
Ian’s role is to visit customers’ premises and also survey potential clients who have pest problems. He plans his route and then checks where the nearest docking stations to his clients are.
“All my equipment – my torch, camera, mobile and overalls can fit in a backpack so the bike is perfect,” he added.
